01Information we collect
When you order we collect your name, email address, shipping address and order details. Payment card details are collected directly by our payment processor and are never stored by us. When you create an account we store your login credentials and order history. When you place an order, sign in or send us a message, we record the IP address and browser (user agent) it came from, to prevent fraud and abuse; an IPv6 address is shortened to its network prefix before it is stored. We do not record the pages you view or the lot numbers you look up.
02How we use it
To process and ship orders, provide order and documentation history, answer enquiries, maintain security and prevent fraud, meet our legal and tax obligations, and improve the site. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
03Lot verification, analytics and abuse prevention
Lot lookups are not logged, and the site runs no analytics or advertising scripts. To stop automated abuse, sign-in, registration, password reset, the contact form and checkout keep short-lived counters keyed on a one-way hash of your IP address or email address; the counters expire on their own and cannot be turned back into the address they came from. The payment form at checkout is provided by our payment processor, which collects the device information it needs to prevent card fraud under its own privacy policy.
04Sharing
We share information only with service providers that need it to perform services for us — payment processing, shipping carriers, email delivery and hosting — under agreements limiting their use of it, and where required by law or to enforce our terms.
05Cookies
We use cookies for the cart, sign-in, security, a discount code you apply, your most recent order confirmation, your answer to the entry question and your cookie choice. If you arrive through a partner's referral link and accept optional cookies, we also set a cookie recording that referral for 30 days so the partner can be credited; it holds the referral code and nothing else. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. The Cookie Policy lists each one. You can disable cookies in your browser; the cart, sign-in and checkout require them.
06Retention and security
Order records are retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires, generally seven years. Account data is retained until you ask us to delete it. We use encryption in transit, restricted access and reputable processors; no system is perfectly secure.
07Your rights and contact
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information. California residents have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, to delete and to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell it).
